Norman Nouveux is a keen purveyor and percussionist in a variety of genres, eagerly participating in psychedelic rock, shoe-gaze, neo-soul, and more. Inspired by the likes of Mitch Mitchell from The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Topper Headon from The Clash.
Norman is passionate in exploring concepts such as creative time signatures, unique song structures, genres, and pushing the boundary of any given track's form tastefully.
He began exploring music, drumming solo, and in band ensembles from his beginning school years, and has kept developing his techniques and experience over the years. Although drumming was once a casual extracurricular passion for Nouveux, he experienced numerous catalysts that escalated this passion into an eager professional zeal, via:
Rehearsing at the behest of classmates when the opportunity was made apparent
The sobering reality of the COVID-19 outbreak, and,
Hours spent at home, consoled by the kindred tunes of musical titans such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, KGATLW, as a respite from his confinement.
A hopeful auteur of musical curousities, Nouveux seeks to exemplify himself in regards to his musiscal capacity, therefore embarking on a melodic journey, self-driven by his pursuit of understanding in instruments beyond his proficiency, and under the tutelage of musical maestros within the percussive passion.
"I honestly don't know who that is. Please let me go to work now." - Random Naarm resident, 21/08/24, Melbourne CBD.
